Acute respiratory infections in early childhood and risk of asthma at 7 years of age

In this population-based birth cohort study, increased number of acute respiratory infections in the first 24 months of life was associated with an increased risk for asthma at 7 years of age, suggesting shared pathophysiologic mechanisms. (Source: Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology)
