HLA-A*32:01 is strongly associated with vancomycin-induced drug reaction with eosinophilia and systemic symptoms

In a population of predominantly European ancestry, we show that carriage of the HLA-A*32:01 allele is strongly associated with the development of vancomycin DRESS. HLA-A*32:01 testing could increase the safety of vancomycin treatment. (Source: Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology)
