Ultrasound-guided versus blind temporomandibular joint injections: a pilot cadaveric evaluation

Temporomandibular disorders are painful conditions that require precise injection therapy in selected patients. This pilot cadaveric study was undertaken to compare the accuracy of temporomandibular joint (TMJ) injection between the anatomical landmark-based (blind) technique and an ultrasound-guided technique. TMJ injections using the blind technique or the ultrasound-guided technique were performed in 10 non-embalmed cadavers.
