Cochlear implantation in far-advanced otosclerosis: hearing results and complications.

Because of the pathophysiology of otosclerosis, patients implanted for FAO may experience an increased rate of complications, such as facial nerve stimulation or electrode dislocation, and may have poorer hearing outcomes than expected.
