This composite hydrogel reflects the enzymatic hydrolysis profiles of penicillinviaβ-lactamase. The determination of β-lactamase by this hydrogel was achieved through an "ON–OFF–OFF–ON" fluorescence trigger pattern. The potency of1@SA was further demonstrated for its selectivity, sensitivity and convenient visual detection.
