MANDIBULAR OSTEONECROSIS/OSTEOMYLITIS IN A PATIENT WITH CROHN DISEASE

Crohn disease (CD) is a chronic inflammatory bowel disease characterized by digestive and gastrointestinal tract inflammation. There is no cure for CD; however, medications, such as immunosuppressants and corticosteroids, are used to retard the rate of progression of the disease. Osteonecrosis is a serious consequence of CD in patients taking these medications and/or bisphosphonates.
