Hypoxia Enhances CD8+ Tc2 Dependent Airway Hyperresponsiveness and Inflammation Through Hypoxia Inducible Factor 1 α

Hypoxia exposure amplifies CD8+ Tc2 differentiation with increased release of IL-13 in vitro and augmentation of lung allergic responses in vivo. The increases in Tc2 differentiation under hypoxia were shown to be dependent on HIF-1 α. (Source: Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology)
