Accumulating evidence suggests that environmental experiences in the first months of life may lead to progression of various allergic diseases through sensitization to aeroallergens as well as food allergens. Prevention of IgE sensitization in this period is therefore theorized to reduce the future risk of allergy development. We aimed to clarify whether administration of anti-IgE to pregnant mice can prevent allergic sensitization in offspring.
