Length and quantity of opioid prescriptions are associated with opioid use disorder (OUD) and increased overdose risk. The use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) for first-line treatment of chronic pain is limited by adverse drug reactions (ADRs), the majority of which do not represent true hypersensitivity. The relationships between reported NSAID ADRs, analgesic utilization patterns and OUD are underexplored.
