At the start of a full dental clearance under general anaesthetic, the surgical team noted an avulsed lower left central incisor with an empty bleeding socket, but the anaesthetic team was unaware of it. The tooth was crowned, grade III mobile, and had been checked by the surgeons, but not the anaesthetic team, preoperatively. (Source: The British Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery)
