Osteoradionecrosis (ORN) of the jaws remains among the most commonly encountered and challenging complications of radiotherapy to the head and neck. The purpose of this study was to provide a review of the medical management for ORN and evaluate the reported outcomes with the use of pentoxifylline and tocopherol (PENTO), by means of a systematic review and meta-analysis. The predictor variable was the use of PENTO in the treatment of ORN. The outcome variable was the proportion of full recovery or significant improvement not requiring further intervention. This article discusses the development of a bilingual mobile sign language dictionary which has features for converting camera captured text into sign language and translating simple sentences from a spoken language into their corresponding signs. Conclusions: Network science provides significant insights into phonological learning trajectories in children with DLD and their typically developing peers. The Effects of Syntactic Complexity and Sentence Length on the Speech Motor Control of School-Age Children Who Stutter.
Conclusions: The speech motor systems of school-age CWS appear to be particularly vulnerable to processing demands associated with increased sentence length, as evidenced by increased LAVar. Increasing the length and complexity of the sentence stimuli also resulted in reduced production accuracy and increased stuttering frequency. Osteoradionecrosis (ORN) of the jaws remains among the most commonly encountered and challenging complications of radiotherapy to the head and neck. The purpose of this study was to provide a review of the medical management for ORN and evaluate the reported outcomes with the use of pentoxifylline and tocopherol (PENTO), by means of a systematic review and meta-analysis. The predictor variable was the use of PENTO in the treatment of ORN. The outcome variable was the proportion of full recovery or significant improvement not requiring further intervention.

The use of intra-articular analgesics to improve outcomes after temporomandibular joint arthrocentesis: a review
Abstract
Purpose
The aim of this review was to assess the efficacy of intra-articular analgesics in improving outcomes after temporomandibular joint (TMJ) arthrocentesis.
Material and methods
An electronic search of PubMed, Scopus, and Google scholar databases was performed for papers in English published up to December 2017 reporting the use of intra-articular analgesics after TMJ arthrocentesis. Randomized controlled trials (RCTs), controlled clinical trials (CCTs), comparative studies, retrospective studies, and case series were included while case reports, technical reports, animal studies, cadaveric studies, and review papers were excluded.
Results
Of the six studies included in the review, three were RCTs, two were randomized comparative studies, and one was a retrospective study. Both opioids and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs have been used after TMJ arthrocentesis. Morphine, tramadol, fentanyl, buprenorphine, tenoxicam, and COX-2 inhibitors are the drugs used till date. Placebo-controlled studies reported improved outcomes after TMJ arthrocentesis with morphine and fentanyl but no such results with buprenorphine and tenoxicam. Tramadol was found to be better than COX-2 inhibitor. The quality of literature was not high.
Conclusions
There is inconclusive evidence in literature on the benefits of using intra-articular analgesics after TMJ arthrocentesis. Well-designed high-quality RCTs with standard protocol studying the effects of intra-articular opioids and NSAIDS after TMJ arthrocentesis would provide stronger evidence on its use.

The purpose of this study was to investigate whether adult listeners can identify the speech of NH and HI children. Moreover, it is studied whether listeners' experience and the children's length of device use play a role in that assessment. For this study, short utterances of 7 children with a cochlear implant (CI), 7 children with an acoustic hearing aid (HA) and 7 children with NH were presented to 90 listeners who were required to specify the hearing status of each speech sample. The purpose of this study was to investigate whether adult listeners can identify the speech of NH and HI children. Moreover, it is studied whether listeners' experience and the children's length of device use play a role in that assessment. For this study, short utterances of 7 children with a cochlear implant (CI), 7 children with an acoustic hearing aid (HA) and 7 children with NH were presented to 90 listeners who were required to specify the hearing status of each speech sample. Proper Cut-off Levels of Serum Specific IgE to Cefaclor for Patients with Cefaclor Allergy.

Cervical lymphadenopathy: can the histogram analysis of apparent diffusion coefficient help to differentiate between lymphoma and squamous cell carcinoma in patients with unknown clinical primary tumor?
Abstract
Purpose
To retrospectively evaluate the value of whole-lesion histogram analysis of apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) maps in differentiating between lymphoma and metastatic squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) of unknown clinical primary in neck nodes.
Methods
A total of 39 patients, 20 affected by lymphoma and 19 affected by metastatic non-nasopharyngeal SCC, were included in this retrospective study. All patients underwent MR imaging with a 1.5 T scanner system, including diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) with three different b values (b = 0, 500 and 800 s/mm2). The entire tumor volume was manually delineated on the ADC maps, using the T2-weighted images and DWIs with b = 800 s/mm2 as a guide to the lesion location. The Mann–Whitney rank-sum test for independent samples was performed to compare the histogram parameters of patients with lymphoma and SCC.
Results
The SCCs showed significantly higher median ADC (ADCmedian) and mean ADC (ADCmean) values, compared to lymphomas (p < 0.001), while they exhibited lower kurtosis and skewness without reaching significance (p = 0.066 and 0.148, respectively). The ADCmean and ADCmedian had the best discriminative powers for differentiating lymphoma and SCC, with an area under the curve of 87% and 85%, respectively. The optimal cutoff values for ADCmean and ADCmedian as predictors for lymphoma were ≤ 0.83 × 10−3 mm2/s and ≤ 0.73 × 10−3 mm2/s, respectively.
Conclusions
The whole-lesion ADC histogram analysis of cervical lymphadenopathy may help to discriminate lymphomas from non-nasopharyngeal SCC in patients with unknown clinical primary tumor.

Oral varicose is an acquired change that occurs in the veins. Usually, small oral varicose require no treatment. Aesthetic site, trauma and bleeding risk of the lesion need of intervention. This technical note describes the treatment of oral varicose by sclerotherapy in form of foam.
Method
The 5% monoethanolamine oleate was used. The foam was produced with Tessari method, in which the proportion air:liquid sclerosing was 4:1. A single application of the 0.5 mL of foam was made under local anesthesia.
Result
Signs and symptoms were minimal after the treatment. Clinical remission of the lesion was observed in two weeks.
Conclusion

We employed qualitative proteomics approach to develop discriminatory biomarker signatures from human saliva exposed to hypobaric hypoxia. Salivary proteins were analyzed and compared between age-matched healthy subjects exposed to high altitude (~13700 ft) for seven days (HAD7) with control subjects at sea level (Normoxia) by using 2-Dimensional gel electrophoresis/Mass Spectrometry approach.
Results
Several proteins with significant differential expression were found. The up-regulated proteins were apoptosis inducing factor-2, cystatin S, cystatin SN and carbonic anhydrase 6. The down regulated proteins were polymeric immunoglobulin receptor, alpha-enolase and prolactin-inducible protein. Further confirmation of the altered proteins such as alpha enolase, carbonic anhydrase 6, prolactin-inducible protein, apoptosis inducing factor 2, cystatin S and cystatin SN was performed using immunoblotting. The expression patterns of the selected proteins observed by immunoblot were in concurrence with 2-Dimesional gel electrophoresis results, therefore affirming the authenticity of the proteomic investigation.
Conclusion
This study provides the proof of concept of salivary biomarkers for the non-invasive detection of hypobaric hypoxia induced effects. It is highly feasible to turn these biomarkers into an applicable clinical test after large scale validation.
