With the rapid technological advancements of the 21st century, wired monitors for patient care may be outdated. Recent research has suggested that wireless monitors (electrocardiography, pulse oximetry, blood pressure reading, and capnography) will be the future of perioperative monitoring.1-4 Going wireless has the potential to dramatically improve the way the oral and maxillofacial surgeon (OMS) delivers anesthesia by increasing efficiency and allowing for a safer environment.
