Introduction: Transoral robotic surgery (TORS) first gained US FDA approval in 2009, for the resection of oropharyngeal cancers. It has since been used widely in this respect, and is seen as a conservative or minimally-invasive approach to head and neck surgery, while also being linked with significantly lower use of adjuvant chemoradiation1.
