We would like to thank Dr Segal for his thoughtful and constructive feedback regarding our report. His letter has reinforced our article's intent to promote future studies comparing the numerous plating techniques.1 We clearly delineated in our article the plating system used in all patients. We also clearly stated the use of this single plating system as a limitation. As such, any biomechanical differences between this system and other methods of fixation are included as a limitation to the study, including any potential differences in plate "rigidity" between systems.
