Trauma is one of the leading causes of mortality worldwide with infections as important causes of death. Therefore, the present study was designed to monitor the peripheral blood monocytic activity to produce cytokines (TNF- α, IL-6& IL-1 β) during the acute post-traumatic period and to correlate with clinical outcome of these patients.
