Higher mouse allergen levels in classrooms have been associated with increased asthma symptoms in students. This was demonstrated in a 5-year observational asthma school study. Two years after the conclusion of the study, a second asthma school study was launched in the same geographic area. We hypothesized that mouse allergen levels may have reduced between the 2 studies due to schools' self-motivation and improved pest reduction strategies.
