Compound Odontoma: a Case Report

Odontomas are tumors of odontogenic origin, formed when both the epithelial and mesenchymal cells undergo differentiation to form the enamel and dentin with variable amounts of cementum and pulp tissue. It is termed as a compound odontoma when the tumor forms a collection of small structures resembling the teeth. The present case is of compound odontoma in the left mandibular region, under the impacted second deciduous molar, in a 4-year-old girl. On the basis of the clinical and radiographic features, the initial diagnosis of compound odontomas was made, and surgical treatment was indicated.
