HIV Screening in the Dental Chair

Objectives: New York State (NYS) Blueprint on Ending the AIDS Epidemic (ETE) recommends routine HIV testing be permitted in additional care settings, including dental offices. A demonstration project was initiated to implement HIV screening in participating dental clinics in New York. We assessed the percentages of patients who accepted the HIV test offer and tested HIV reactive/positive.
