Local Recurrence and Epithelial Dysplasia at the Resection Margin of Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma

Objectives: At the annual meeting of the American Academy of Oral Medicine (AAOM) in 2014, we reported on local recurrence resulting from dysplastic epithelia remaining at the resection margin in 15 patients with oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC). In the present study, the relationship between p53 status in dysplasia at the resection margin and recurrence was investigated with the same series of 15 OSCCs.
